Spray Foam Insulation

Spray Foam Insulation is an environmentally friendly, high performance, closed cell rigid polyurethane foam used for insulation, and is spray applied exclusively by certified applicators. This All-in-One Wall System Concept puts insulation, air, and vapour-barriers into one product. Consequently, you reduce the cost of the project as well as its lifelong energy consumption.

Commonly Asked Questions

What is Sprayed Polyurethane Foam Insulation?

Quite simply put it is “insulation plus sealant”. As a rigid cellular plastic with over 95% closed cell content, Spray Polyurethane Foam Insulation acts as insulation, an air barrier and, in some cases, also a vapor barrier. Spray Polyurethane Foam Insulation will cut energy costs and improve comfort levels in any building.

POLARFOAM PF-7300 is a Soya based polyurethane and an ecological insulation with Zero Ozone Depletion Substance made from renewable vegetable oils and recycled plastics.

What are the properties of Spray Polyurethane Foam Insulation?
  • Continuous, seamless, no joints.
  • Can fill cracks, voids, and holes.
  • Adheres to wood, metal, concrete, masonry, almost all plastics.
  • Almost totally impermeable to air.
  • High insulation value.
  • Durability and long service life.
  • Can be sprayed overhead, doesn’t sag.
  • Speedy, quick set, installation.
  • Doesn’t settle.
  • Only thermal insulation which is tested for VOC’s.Can be used as a water barrier.
  • Can be used as a water barrier.
What are the advantages to using Spray Polyurethane Foam Insulation?
  • It acts as a seamless insulation making it more efficient than any other material used in the industry.
  • SPF is airtight which eliminates all air infiltration or exfiltration.
  • It is durable and odorless.
  • It will not settle or shrink, making it stable.
  • Because SPF is light and versatile and has strong adhesive properties, it easily fills difficult to reach places and adheres to most clean surfaces.
  • It is quick and easy to install, making SPF an inexpensive alternative to other types of insulation.

Spray foams can be applied at different densities to meet the demands and requirements of our customers. When initially sprayed, our insulating spray foam system has a high R-value of 7 per inch and can be applied in both warm and cold temperatures.

Open-Cell

Open-cell spray foam insulation has tiny cells which are not completely closed. Open-cell is usually less expensive because it is developed using fewer chemicals. Open-cell is superior as an air barrier and is sponge-like in appearance. It is often used to insulate interior walls because it minimizes outdoor noise intrusion. It is not recommended for outdoor applications. Used in warmer climates.

Closed-Cell

Closed-cell spray foam insulation is a higher-density foam than open-cell. The structure of the actual cells is more compact. It is both an air barrier, water-resistive, and vapor barrier. Closed-cell can be installed anywhere in the home. Typically used in colder climates.
