Safety

Safety is a core value of our company, it is engrained in our employees
where safe performance guides everything we do.

Safety Program Certification

Kasteel has been a member of the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program since 2013 through the Northern Safety Association (NSA).

Our health and safety management system is regularly reviewed under external audit, with the success of our systems demonstrated by our strong safety record.

Our Safety Goals and Objectives

Kasteel is passionate about safety and the well-being of our clients, our employees, their families and our communities. Maintaining a safe environment is an underlying goal of our organization so we can continuously complete projects on time and in the safest, most responsible manner. Through strict safety enforcement and performance on all job sites, commitment to our internal compliance can only be 100%.

It is Kasteel’s responsibility to ensure our crews and our trades go home safe every night. Our employees are actively engaged in health and safety training programs year-round and we continually promote the latest construction safety rules and regulations.

We believe that all safety-related incidents are foreseeable, predictable and preventable. Kasteel follows a strict safety program on site to reduce risk and maximize performance. All employees are required to complete orientations to become accustomed with the site safety culture, specific hazards and detailed safety plans.

The Certificate of Recognition (COR) is an occupational health and safety program accreditation for industry employers aimed at reducing the human and financial costs associated with workplace accidents and injuries. COR is rapidly becoming the key criteria in the legislated requirement to evaluate, select and monitor contractors. It is used as a pre-qualification requirement for contractors working in and out of province and territory. COR is the highest distinction available to contractors, verifying a fully implemented and effective health and safety program that meets the national standards.
